Summary:
Water-glycol fire-resistant hydraulic fluid (L-HFC) is mainly used in all medium and low-pressure hydraulic systems that have risks of high temperature, open flame, high-pressure injection, flammability and explosion, and require absolute fire prevention. Among them, the metallurgical/steel industry is its core application scenario. In this industry, equipment such as converters, electric furnaces, continuous casting machines, mud guns, furnace cover lifting and rotating mechanisms in the steelmaking link, hot rolling mills, coke pushers, coke oven door locking machines in the steel rolling link, as well as forging manipulators, heat treatment furnace doors, die-casting machines in the forging and casting link, all need to use this hydraulic fluid. The environment where such equipment is located has molten metal above 1000℃ and continuous high temperature, and the hydraulic fluid is easy to ignite after injection. Water-glycol fire-resistant hydraulic fluid can effectively avoid fire risks.
In the coal mine/mining industry, underground hydraulic supports, shearers, roadheaders, scraper conveyors and other equipment, due to being in a closed space, have the risk of gas and coal dust explosion, and any fire source is strictly prohibited. Therefore, this type of fire-resistant hydraulic fluid is also needed to ensure safety.
In the power industry, the hydraulic systems of thermal power-based steam turbines, coal mills, boiler feed pumps, dust removal equipment, etc., are affected by high-temperature pipelines and boiler open flames. Hydraulic fluid leakage is likely to cause a full-plant fire, and water-glycol fire-resistant hydraulic fluid is an ideal choice for them.
In the chemical/oil and gas industry, reactors, compressors, oil-gas separation equipment, valve actuators and other equipment are in an environment with flammable materials, high temperature and high pressure, and have high explosion-proof grade requirements, so this hydraulic fluid is also applicable.
In the marine/offshore field, the steering gear, cargo winch, anchor winch, and hatch cover hydraulic systems, due to being located in closed cabins with dense personnel and high difficulty in fire fighting, also need to rely on its fire-resistant characteristics to ensure safety.
In addition, this hydraulic fluid can also be applied to die-casting machines and equipment around melting furnaces in the mechanical die-casting field, ground support equipment and some military aircraft landing gears in the aerospace and military industry, theater stages, large lifting platforms, water conservancy gates in public facilities, as well as injection molding machines and thermoforming machines in the plastic and rubber industry and other equipment related to high-temperature mold areas.
It should be noted that water-glycol fire-resistant hydraulic fluid also has clear inapplicable scenarios. It is not suitable for high-pressure systems with pressure greater than 20MPa, high-temperature systems with continuous temperature higher than 65℃, precision servo systems with high-response servo valves, and equipment involving zinc, cadmium, magnesium alloys and some coatings;
